Jane Doe Story Video

Jane Doe Introduction

Jane Doe is a light-skinned Black woman in her late 30s with brown eyes and long black hair. She is a law student with a documented brain injury, walking with a disability aid, often wearing sunglasses indoors due to light sensitivity. This is her story.

Scene 1

She was almost there.
One month from graduating law school.
After years of fighting to become a lawyer with a disability.

Scene 2

She wasn’t asking for an advantage.
Just the right to finish school without collapsing.
Jane Doe fought through pain, migraines, fainting spells, and memory loss.
She never gave up.

Scene 3

Fall #1: She warned them.
They didn’t listen.
She hit her head in class. No ambulance was called.
No accommodations were provided.

Scene 4

Feb 21: Her doctor warned UDC.
Any further stress could worsen her brain injury.
The school did nothing.

Scene 5

March 20: She collapsed again.
This time, she was rushed to the ER.
Possible seizure. Head trauma.

Scene 6

She was one month from finishing.
Now, she can’t walk without help.
She wears sunglasses indoors. She slurs her words.

Scene 7

March 6: She filed an Emergency Motion for accommodations.
The court never ruled. For over a month.

Scene 8

The school’s social worker falsely told the court she submitted no medical documents.
She submitted five. Four mentioned concussion.
The school violated the ADA.

Scene 9

The judge still didn’t act.
Instead, he ordered Jane to prove her brain injury again.
She was weeks away from graduating with honors.
Now she may never graduate at all.

Scene 10

On March 28, she collapsed a final time.
She hit her head—again. And almost died.
A week later, the court forced her to attend a hearing anyway.
Hooked to a heart monitor, barely able to think, Jane Doe dictated a motion from the ER.

This is what dismantling the ADA looks like.
